I See You, I See You Trying. I'm Trying Too.
Leaning In, Leaning On, Leaning Towards - A Real Talk for Unreal Times
Facilitated by: Dr. Meaghen Johnston, RSW
I'm in it with you. I've been parenting imperfectly during a pandemic. I will bring to you an honest and real perspective on the sheer grit, tenacity, and self-compassion it takes to walk through this time with our children.
In our time together, we will give language to this extraordinary experience and leave with real strategies and a hopeful path forward.
Here's just a sample of what you will discover:
- the most meaning-making moments for our children happen in the incredibly imperfect and messy ones (phew!),
- allowing ourselves to be fully seen is a requirement for connection and we are hardwired to connect with others,
- love and belonging are "ground zero" for children and youth, and
- bearing witness to the pain in our children is the bravest and most loving thing we can do for them.
The bottom line is this...who we are and how we show up in our own lives is the most accurate predictor of how our kids will be. Let's use this as our motivation to learn and grow in the service of shining a light on the strengths and resources in our next generation.
We are all "in it" so let's connect in a real way and share. I'll meet you there.
