Students are encouraged to wear a pink shirt in support of bullying prevention. This is a casual day with no monetary donation for students who wear a pink shirt. Over the lunch hour our Peer Support Team will host an awareness campaign aimed at preventing bullying, discrimination and harassment.

Pink Day began in Nova Scotia in 2007 when two grade 12 students, David Shepherd and Travis Price, chose to take action against bullying behaviour after ninth grade student Chuck McNeill was bullied for wearing a pink shirt during the first day of school. Their actions sparked a world-wide movement shedding light on the issues surrounding bullying and inspired others to Be Someone’s Hero by speaking up when they see bullying happening.
