Scope
The St. Mary’s Academy community is committed to upholding its mission and vision, as actioned through the standards of behavior in community interactions. These principles apply to everyone involved in the St. Mary’s Academy community, including students, families, staff, volunteers, St. Mary’s Academy Foundation Inc. Board members, St. Mary’s Academy Board members, Parents Guild, Alumnae Association and members of the broader St. Mary’s Academy community.
Standard of Behaviour
In recognition of the mission and vision of St. Mary’s Academy, and the call for all members to Hold High the Torch of learning, faith, service, and leadership, all involved in the St. Mary’s Academy community must:
- treat each other with respect
- demonstrate honesty and integrity
- respect and treat others fairly, regardless of faith, race, ancestry, place of origin, color, ethnic origin, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age or disability
- show care and respect for school property and the property of others
- honour and respect the institution and traditions of St. Mary’s Academy
- take reasonable steps to help those in need
- respect the needs of others to work in an environment that encourages learning and teaching
- respect the privacy and confidentiality of those involved in the St. Mary’s Academy community
- respect St. Mary’s Academy protocols and communication processes.
