To celebrate World Water Day our Green Team will start the day with a special morning prayer, and the Team will have posters around the school explaining why we do not support the purchase of bottled water. As a SNJM school we support the Corporate Stands of the Sisters, one of which is that ‘Water is a Human Right and Public Good’. One important facet is that water packaged in plastic water bottles is not sustainable and is detrimental to our environment. Also, we will have an exhibit in the Sheila Chipman Atrium displaying our grade 8 classes Naadhobi-inspired art exhibit. This exhibit showcases a Science/ELA cross-curricular research project based on the novel, A Long Walk to Water. Students researched a body of water with an environmental or human rights issue connected to it, completed a written component and a visual call-to-action component.
