Spirit Week

March 21 to March 25

Students will experience a fun-filled week of themed dress up days, lunch time competitions, and activities such as minute-to-win-it games and air bands during grade level “Gym Riots”.

Themed dress up days are as follows:

• Monday - Anything but a Backpack Day: students will wear SMA’s full regulation uniform however, instead of carrying their items around in a backpack they can use something different such as a briefcase, shopping basket, picnic basket, guitar case, pet carrier etc.
• Tuesday – Seniors Day: students do not need to wear SMA’s full regulation uniform and they may dress up like a senior citizen.
• Wednesday – Formal Day: students do not need to wear SMA’s full regulation uniform and they may dress up in their favourite formal clothing.
• Thursday – Adam Sandler Day: students do not need to wear SMA’s full regulation uniform and they may dress up like Adam Sandler (baggy clothing, gym shorts, t-shirt and sunglasses) or like one of the characters he plays.
• Friday – Team Colours Day: students do not need to wear SMA’s full regulation uniform and they may dress in SMA colours that correspond with their grade level, as follows:
• Grades 7 and 11: Blue
• Grades 8 and 10: Grey
• Grades 9 and 12: Red

• Lunch Competitions: competitions take place on Wednesday and Thursday at 1:00 PM in Alumnae Hall. Maximum of 100 participants, the first 100 students to arrive will be in the competitions.

  • Wednesday: Finish the Lyrics
  • Thursday: Guess the Teachers Kahoot

   

  Gym Riot: On Friday, students will participate in fun and games that SMA affectionately refers to as a “Gym Riot”.  Sign up sheet for students to participate will be posted in homeroom classes on Monday, March 21. Students who do not participate will watch and cheer as spectators. The day is broken into grade level groupings as follows:

  • Grades 9 and 10: Periods 1 and 2
  • Grades 11 and 12: Periods 3 and 4
  • Grades 7 and 8: Periods 5 and 6
