With a $2 donation students may wear casual clothes instead of the SMA uniform. Proceeds benefit the Ma Mawi Wi Chi Itata Centre's "Honoring the Spirit of our Little Sisters" Indigenous Care Home Program. It is six bed specialized home for sexually exploited girls and transgender teens aged 13 to 17. The Ma Mawi Wi Chi Itata Centre, Inc. was born in the fall of 1984 by committed community members who sought an Indigenous solution to supporting and rebuilding families. The name Ma Mawi Wi Chi Itata translates from Ojibway into the phrase, “we all work together to help one another”.
