Walk for Cancer

SMA’s junior and senior students will participate in three separate Walk for Cancer this year. The Walks are community building activities that raise awareness about cancer and funds. The Walks are mandatory events, attendance is required. Information and links to a permission form went home to families this past week.

• Grade 7 students will be doing their Walk for Cancer at Grade 7 Camp in Camp Manitou.
• Grade 8 students will arrive at SMA at 9 AM on September 24 where they will participate in a Walk for Cancer as well as other fun activities at the school. Proceeds collected will be used to create care packages for patients and families who are receiving treatment the children's cancer ward at Children's Hospital. Students will be dismissed at 2:30 PM. Grades 9 to 12 students will arrive at St. Paul’s High School at 8:45 AM and will be allowed to have their cell phones with them; however, we encourage students to fully participate in the day and use their phones only when necessary. Proceeds from the Senior Walk will go to CancerCare Manitoba. Students in Grades 9 to 12 are dismissed from St. Paul's High School at 2:15 PM.
