The Flames Prep Team is a sanctioned Hockey Canada Sport School Team, and is also recognized by Hockey Manitoba. Participants receive on-ice and off-ice skills-based training.
Students in grades 10 – 12 who want to play hockey at a high level may be invited to try out for the team.
In the 2016-17 season, the Flames Prep team joined the Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL). The CSSHL is a Hockey Canada Sport School league where each team hosts a weekend tournament with playoffs in early March in Penticton, British Columbia.
