At SMA, we're creating opportunities for young women to become leaders in the service of others beyond our local community.

SMA offers Extended Service Experiences (ESE), (formally called mission trips) to junior and senior students.

ESEs will be offered on alternating summers. ESEs are longer than our usual service opportunities. Senior students will participate in an international experience and junior students in a four-day local experience.

ESEs will also include intentional preparation and follow-up, addressing the spirit, mind and body of participants.

Called to be Saints — Young World Changers
June 17-20, 2025

SMA’s Junior Extended Service Experience is based on Just5Days and delivered by the Mission and Charism Department. Called to be Saints—Young World Changers is for students who are in Grades 7 and 8 in the 2024-2025 school year. The experience takes place at St. Mary’s Academy—students have most meals at SMA, sleep at SMA and participate at service sites during the day. Adult and senior high students accompany small groups.
